So, for one weekend me and some of my ski savvy friends trained to Chamonix to ski for the weekend. The roundtrip train ticket was 50 francs, and it was definitely worth it. Although, getting to Chamonix and leaving Chamonix was quite the adventure. The train was closed for the final leg of the trip, so we ended up transferring to a bus to get in to Chamonix. Getting out was a bit harder haha. But once we got there we were swept up in the beauty of Chamonix. They had been getting an extreme amount of snow the past couple of days so the powder on the mountain was amazing. We ended up skiing on Les Houches both days in Chamonix because a lot of the mountains were closed due to heavy snow. I can confidently say this is some of the best skiing I have ever experienced in my life. It was honestly an unreal experience. There were points in time where I didn't see anyone else on the mountain and I was shin deep in snow. So, I would definitely recommend a trip here for the amazing snow! The town is also adorable and has a great selection of cafes. Leaving Chamonix turned out to be quite the adventure because there was an avalanche, so the road out of Chamonix was closed as well as the train. I honestly wasn't sure if we were going to make it out of Chamonix, but next thing I knew we were in a van driving behind a snow plow. God is good! I would definitely recommend a trip to this charming ski town!
