For second semester abroad we had a spiritual retreat in Champéry, Switzerland. This is probably somewhere I would not have gone if it wasn't for the spiritual retreat. That being said I ended up being very pleasantly surprised with the beauty of this place. We ended up walking around where our chalet was and finding a ropes course. We also found this amazing cliff hike over looking Champéry. The views were honestly overwhelming. The next day we went on top of the ski mountain. Just to preface, there was no snow at our chalet, so I was not really expecting much snow on the mountain. But once we got through the clouds on the gondola we were in a snowy paradise and I was honestly shocked. This was an amazing weekend full of worship (specifically the song "My Lighthouse"), games, friends, and the great surprise of Champéry.
