This is a place where you are constantly surrounded by the sound of bagpipes and where everyone wants to be your friend. J.K. Rowling wrote Harry Potter in the Elephant House in Edinburgh, and as we toured the city it became very clear how the city inspired her. We actually walked on the street that inspired Diagon alley. There was also an amazing Harry Potter store there that sold butter beer! In addition, Edinburgh also does lots of haunted tours due to their dark history, so we did a haunted bus tour one night and our guide was ~super spooky~ which was a hoot. The next day we walked along the royal mile shopping and exploring. We went into one bag pipe shop, and the man there had actually won 2 gold medals in the bag pipes, and was the first person to do that since the 1600s. So, I definitely felt honored to have met him! We hiked up to Arthur's seat which offered a beautiful view of the city. Edinburgh was an amazing city and people here are friendly and love talking about their city and their culture.
