During Christmas of my senior year of high school my family travelled around Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bangkok. The culture in Asia was unlike any other culture I had ever experienced. Hong Kong was jam packed full of people and seemed to be bursting at the seems. Hong Kong is a center of commerce and the sheer size of commercial infrastructure is incredible. The grandiose temples in Bangkok and the reclining Buddha attracted people like flies. I was surprised to find an unparalleled love for Hello Kitty and a fascination with Star Wars that rivaled that of America. The sheer size of these cities and the amount of stuff everywhere was mind blowing.
